I am a graduate student foodie who, until 2 years ago, only knew how to bake cakes, use the microwave, and cook an egg. An interest in eating yummier and healthier food while on a graduate salary, as well as starting to see cooking as a Gestalt activity, where a whole is created that is more than the sum of its parts, led to a quest to learn how to cook.
